Job Overview

Client is seeking an experienced Injection Process Engineer to support injection molding and manufacturing operations at our Seymour, Indiana facility.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with plastic injection molding, manufacturing processes, production troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement. This position will work closely with engineers, technicians, production teams, suppliers, and site leadership to improve manufacturing performance, resolve process issues, and support new projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Injection Molding Team through coaching, team meetings, and on-the-job training.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve injection molding process and production problems.
  • Lead and support root cause analysis and corrective action activities.
  • Facilitate problem-solving activities using structured quality and manufacturing tools.
  • Support QRQC (Quick Response Quality Control) activities and escalate issues when necessary.
  • Plan, schedule, and coordinate manufacturing and industrial engineering activities.
  • Support APU Managers and Site Managers with production and process-related issues.
  • Identify workforce requirements and support production scheduling.
  • Coordinate the activities of engineers, technicians, designers, and other manufacturing personnel when required.
  • Implement continuous improvement initiatives, including 5S, problem solving, improvement proposals, and VPS tools.
  • Work with suppliers to identify and resolve process and quality issues.
  • Review production schedules with the Master Scheduler and support manufacturing priorities.
  • Support project roadmaps and ensure manufacturing activities are completed according to project requirements.
  • Lead cross-functional problem-solving teams to identify root causes and develop corrective action plans.
  • Apply quality and problem-solving tools to improve production processes and product quality.
  • Support Customer Initial Sample submissions and ensure required documentation is completed accurately.
  • Collaborate with customers, suppliers, engineering teams, and internal manufacturing teams.
  • Perform other duties and projects as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
  • 4+ years of relevant engineering or manufacturing experience.
  • Demonstrated hands-on experience analyzing and solving injection molding problems.
  • Experience working with injection molding processes in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong problem-solving and root cause analysis skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with engineers, technicians, production teams, suppliers, and customers.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Preferred Experience

  • Automotive manufacturing or automotive supplier experience.
  • Plastic injection molding experience.
  • Manufacturing Engineering or Process Engineering experience.
  • Industrial Engineering experience.
  • Experience with QRQC, 5S, Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, or continuous improvement.
  • Experience with structured problem-solving methodologies such as 5 Why, 8D, or Fishbone analysis.
  • Experience working directly with suppliers and customers.
  • Experience supporting new product launches or manufacturing projects.
