Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of Crosslinked (crosslinked.io), operated by Brenden Ferland. By using the site, you agree to these terms.
1. What Crosslinked Is
Crosslinked is a job search platform for polymer and materials science professionals. We aggregate job listings from publicly available sources and present them with structured filters and personalized matching.
Crosslinked is a search and discovery tool. We are not an employer, a staffing agency, or a recruiter. We do not make hiring decisions, guarantee employment, or guarantee the accuracy of any job listing.
2. Accounts
You may browse jobs without an account. Creating an account gives you access to personalized matching, saved searches, and email alerts.
You are responsible for:
- Providing accurate information when creating your account
- Keeping your sign-in credentials secure
- All activity that occurs under your account
You must be at least 16 years old to create an account. One account per person.
3. Profile and Visibility
Your profile defaults to Private. If you change your visibility to Discoverable or Public, the information in your profile may be visible to other users of Crosslinked, including employers. You control what you put in your profile and what visibility setting you choose.
We may introduce employer-facing features (such as candidate search) in the future. We will notify existing users before enabling any new visibility features and will never change your visibility setting without your action.
4. Job Listings
Job listings on Crosslinked are sourced from third-party websites. We make reasonable efforts to ensure accuracy, but:
- Listings may be outdated, removed, or changed at the source after we index them.
- Structured fields (salary, degree requirements, materials, visa sponsorship, etc.) may contain errors.
- We do not verify the legitimacy of employers or the existence of positions.
- Salary ranges may be estimates and are not offers or guarantees.
- Visa and immigration data is informational only. H-1B sponsorship indicators, "H-1B history" labels, and visa classifications are derived from job descriptions and public Department of Labor filing data. They do not constitute legal advice, do not guarantee that any employer will sponsor a visa for any specific candidate, and should not be relied upon for immigration decisions. Always confirm visa sponsorship directly with the employer and consult an immigration attorney for legal guidance.
- Export control and security clearance labels may be inaccurate. Verify all eligibility requirements directly with the employer.
Always verify details directly with the employer before making decisions based on information found here. Crosslinked is a discovery tool, not a source of legal, immigration, or employment advice.
5. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Scrape, crawl, or systematically download job listings or user data from Crosslinked
- Create accounts in bulk or use automated tools to interact with the site
- Impersonate another person or misrepresent your qualifications
- Use the platform for any illegal purpose
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other users' data or our systems
- Post or transmit spam, malware, or harmful content
- Interfere with the operation of the service
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.
6. Intellectual Property
Our content: The Crosslinked name, logo, site design, and classification data are our intellectual property. Job listings remain the property of the original employers/sources.
Your content: You retain ownership of all information you provide (profile data, saved searches, etc.). By using Crosslinked, you grant us a limited license to use this data to provide and improve the service as described in our Privacy Policy.
7. Email Communications
By creating a saved search, you opt in to receiving email alerts at the frequency you select. You can stop these at any time by deleting your saved searches or emailing alerts@crosslinked.io.
Transactional emails (sign-in links, password resets) are sent only when you request them and cannot be opted out of while you have an account.
8. Pricing
Crosslinked is currently free for job seekers. We may introduce paid features in the future. If we do, existing free features will remain free or you will be given advance notice of any changes. We will never charge you without your explicit consent.
9. Disclaimer of Warranties
Crosslinked is provided "as is" and "as available." We make no warranties, express or implied, including but not limited to:
- That the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure
- That job listings are accurate, current, or complete
- That match scores reflect actual suitability for a position
- That using the service will result in employment
We're a small team and continuously improving the platform. The service may occasionally experience downtime or change without notice. We do our best, but we cannot promise perfection.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Crosslinked and its operator shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of employment opportunities, lost profits, or data loss, arising from your use of the service.
Our total liability for any claim arising from the service is limited to the amount you have paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim (which is currently $0, since the service is free).
11. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Crosslinked and its operator from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your violation of these terms or your use of the service.
12. Termination
You may delete your account at any time by emailing brenden@crosslinked.io. We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms, with or without notice.
Upon termination, your data will be deleted as described in our Privacy Policy.
13. Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated by email to registered users and by updating this page. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
14. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Connecticut, United States, without regard to conflict of law provisions. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of the State of Connecticut.
