A well-established chemical manufacturer is seeking a Development Chemist with strong experience in rubber formulation and compound development. This is a unique opportunity to play a key role in launching a new manufacturing facility and helping build its technical capabilities. Duties: • Develop and formulate rubber compounds for coated fabric applications. • Support startup of a brand-new manufacturing facility. • Conduct laboratory testing and material analysis.

• Troubleshoot processing and material performance issues. • Support manufacturing scale-up activities. • Document formulations, testing, and project results.

• Evaluate raw materials, fillers, additives, and curing systems. • Help establish laboratory procedures and technical best practices. • Mentor junior chemists and future technical staff.

• Collaborate with manufacturing, engineering, quality, and operations. • Occasional customer-facing technical support. • Travel to other company facilities for training and knowledge transfer.

Salary

$90,000 - $100,000

Technical Qualifications: • BS degree in Chemistry, Polymer Science, Materials Science, or related discipline. • 5\+ years of rubber compound development experience preferred. • Hands-on experience with rubber compounding and formulation development.

• Knowledge of elastomers including EPDM, Neoprene, Silicone, or related materials. • Experience with tensile, rheology, hardness, aging, and related testing methods. • Ability to troubleshoot processing and material issues.

• Experience supporting manufacturing scale-up and commercialization. • Strong technical reporting and documentation skills. • Coated fabrics experience highly desirable.
