Job Title Lead Scientist - Industrial Coating Additives

Summary Join a dynamic, cross-functional team driving innovation in the global industrial coatings and automotive coatings market. As Lead Scientist, you will spearhead the development of cutting-edge silicone and silane-based additives and resins, transforming complex challenges into scalable solutions. Leveraging deep expertise in structure-property relationships, you’ll formulate technical hypotheses, design and validate breakthrough formulations, and optimize performance for commercial success.

This role is pivotal in advancing next-generation coating technologies through a rigorous, iterative product development cycle—from concept to launch.

Please note that this role requires on-site presence five days per week, Monday through Friday.

Responsibilities Include • Develop high-performance additives and resins for industrial and automotive coatings formulators. • Create technologies using innovative chemistries based on Silicone/Silane or hybrid materials, offering a differentiated value proposition for the coatings market. • Evaluate target performance properties in intended applications and understand structure-property relationships to optimize products.

• Manage multiple projects effectively, ensuring clear alignment of goals, objectives, and deliverables with business and market needs. • Collaborate efficiently with a cross-functional team, including Technology, Marketing, Sales, and Manufacturing.

Qualifications The following are *required* for the role • Masters or Ph.D. in chemistry or chemical engineering. • R&D experience in industrial coatings/automotive coatings chemistries and formulations (minimum 5 years after PhD or 8 years after Masters). • Team player with good interpersonal skills. • Ability to learn relevant skills quickly and constantly improve. • Have passion, enthusiasm, and positive attitude.

What We Offer

Base Pay Range: $132,000 - $193,600

*The actual salary offered is determined by factors including but not limited to education, experience, skill sets, and geography. Local geographic pay differentials may not be reflected in the above pay range and will be discussed with you by a member of the HR team when applicable.
