Job Summary

Under the direction of the Production Manager, the Thermoforming Process Specialist is responsible for analyzing and improving thermoforming output, quality, and stability. This role will need to understand and rectify thermoforming weak points and help the team in getting maximum output of our thermoforming equipment. The Thermoforming Process Specialist will be responsible for setting thermoforming standards; in safety, quality, production improvements, conditions, and new product development.

Essential Duties, Responsibilities, And Key Results Area • Identify key areas in thermoforming that need improving, make sure all thermoformers can run at maximum capacity to match Faerch needs, and report to Production Manager if and why they are not. • Coordinate with Group resources to evaluate improvement opportunities. • Perform set-ups, changeovers, tool maintenance, and repairs on production tools.

• Participate in NPD and implementation of new products. • Assess thermoforming training needs for individuals in conjunction with Lead Tech/Production Manager and develop individual and/or group training plans accordingly. • Plan and support the delivery of consistent thermoforming training in conjunction with Lead Tech, ensuring that Quality and Health & Safety requirements are actively encouraged and promoted.

• Monitor and review the progress of Thermoforming Tech trainees with Thermoforming Tech Lead and Supervisors through evaluation of skills and validation of progress. • Provide support with the development of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and training records. • Own and maintain Thermoforming Skills Matrix to capture training progress.

• May travel to visit customers as needed to reinforce relationships or solve issues related to tray quality. • Actively participate in the recruitment of Thermoforming Techs. • Identify and address key skill-gaps within the thermoforming teams.

• Advise Production Manager on training issues and provide advice and guidance as necessary to support. • Participate in personal training and development to ensure personal skills and knowledge are maintained and developed. • Contribute to, and participate in company improvement activities, and identify improvements.

Run and take part in lean projects at site and any ad hoc/projects. • Identify and investigate reoccurring problems and liaise as appropriate to agree and implement countermeasures and eliminate problems. • Support the Thermoforming team in troubleshooting problems and act as a liaison as appropriate internally or externally.

• Support on waste elimination projects to deliver year on year cost savings. • Always maintain hygiene and housekeeping standards in the work area and around machines. • Adopt working practices to comply with company and general health and safety requirements.

Ideal Candidate Possesses These Attributes • Experience with quality or ERP systems is a plus. • Ability to spend extended periods on the production floor, including standing and walking. • Work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, temperature variations, and manufacturing equipment. • Use of required personal protective equipment (PPE) as dictated by company policies and food-safety requirements. • Reliable attendance and ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications • 5\+ years of thermoforming experience required. • Competence in all Thermoforming Tech skill sets in line with Faerch standards. • Mechanical aptitude and experience.

• Must possess attention to detail, a sense of urgency, a can-do attitude, be self-directed, and display strong organizational skills. • Must be able to communicate and work well with others. • Must be available to meet with all shifts to implement best practices and standardization.

• Supervisory and/or Lead experience is preferred.

Work Environment/Physical Requirements: Fast-paced manufacturing environment. Production environment requires use or hearing protection, gloves, hardhat and safety glasses. Role requirements are as follows, but not limited to, ability to lift up to 50 pounds, twist at the waist, use tools, stand for extended periods.
