Job Description

Research and Development (R&D) at Procter & Gamble, the largest consumer packaged goods company in the world, includes a diverse group of roles that contribute to the innovation and development of our products. It encompasses roles in product research, formulation, testing, and scientific analysis. You will find variety and excitement starting Day 1.

The Opportunity

P&G has an opportunity for a PhD Scientist to work on our Fabric Care business in Fabric Enhancers Global Platform. P&G has a successful history of bringing new innovation to deliver products that delight the consumer. In this role you will be responsible for developing a pipeline of new technologies and materials for P&G Fabric Care products in the Fabric Enhancer Platform, like Downy Liquid Fabric Enhancers and Unstopables in-wash scent boosters. This role is tasked to develop cost effective technical solutions to further improve the performance of our formulated products.

To do this job you will interact with scientific experts of different backgrounds, mathematical and molecular modelers, and P&G formulation and process engineers. Promising materials will be evaluated for in-use performance in consumer goods products under a variety of consumer relevant conditions to aid development of structure/property/performance relationships that in turn will inform the design of new candidate materials and/or new products.

The role will consist of developing technical ideas and then designing technical programs to evaluate, prioritize, improve, and fully commercialize the successful ones into Fabric Enhancer products. You will counsel management on research trends and developments in your area of expertise, use mastery and data to seek out non-obvious project and technology connections, and anticipate potential technical issues to proactively identify solutions. It will also involve developing intellectual property around those technologies and products.

You will be part of a small team working on new technology approaches to address unmet consumer needs and/or resolve technical tensions, and should possess excellent interpersonal skills.
