Where the impossible becomes possible, and every day is an opportunity to learn and get one step closer to knowing the unknown. Join us on our mission to expand humanity's presence in space.

Summary

Loadpath, LLC a Redwire business unit, is accelerating humanity's expansion into space through specializing in the development and delivery of multiple payload adapters, deployable structures, spacecraft mechanisms, and thermal management technology. We currently have an opportunity for an experienced Structural Analyst to join our dynamic, multi-disciplinary team focused on developing satellite and launch vehicle mechanical and structural technologies. This position may be in Littleton CO, or Albuquerque NM.

The ideal candidate is a self-motivated structural analyst, with excellent FEMAP and NASTRAN skills, who is interested in an autonomous work environment and being the lead structural analyst for aerospace projects. The position responsibilities will focus on static and dynamic finite element analyses of state-of-the-art structures and mechanisms for satellites, launch vehicles, and missile defense applications. Specific products include multiple payload launch structures, deployable satellite antennas, test configurations, and spacecraft mechanisms.

Responsibilities

  • Develop system-level static and dynamic finite element models using FEMAP/NASTRAN.
  • Perform detailed stress analysis of metallic and composite structures.
  • Work closely with the mechanical design, thermal, and systems engineering teams to optimize solutions and ensure all requirements are met.
  • Review engineering designs and drawings, providing clear and actionable feedback to the Mechanical Design team.
  • Prepare and present technical reports, results, and design review materials for internal and customer reviews.
  • Develop static and dynamic test plans, test procedures, and predictions.
  • On-site test execution, data processing, post-test model correlation, and test reporting.
  • Independently develop solutions and analysis approaches using sound engineering principles with minimal oversight.

Ideal Experience

  • BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field.
  • 5 or more years of relevant experience
  • FEA experience with FEMAP and NASTRAN preferred.
  • Ability to obtain and hold a security clearance.
  • Ability to travel to support milestone reviews and structural testing (<10%)

Desired Skills

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient using Microsoft Office 365.
  • Experience evaluating dynamic environments, including vibration and shock.
  • Structural design experience with Solidworks is a plus.
  • Familiarity with ABAQUS and/or ANSYS.
