Role details
Our client is seeking a
Production Supervisor / Extrusion Lead
to oversee daily manufacturing operations and ensure production runs safely, efficiently, and meets quality standards.
This is a hands-on leadership opportunity for someone with experience in blown film extrusion, plastics manufacturing, or a similar production environment .
Lead Technicians, Lead Operators, Extrusion Leads, and experienced Extrusion Operators with strong blown film experience are encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities
- Supervise daily production operations, production lines, and hourly employees.
- Lead, train, coach, and schedule production staff.
- Monitor production output, quality, efficiency, and production targets.
- Ensure employees follow safety procedures, company policies, GMP standards, and PPE requirements.
- Investigate workplace accidents and assist with injury reporting and corrective actions.
- Work closely with Maintenance to troubleshoot equipment issues and coordinate repairs.
- Monitor extrusion equipment and production processes to ensure proper operation.
- Maintain production, quality, safety, and compliance records.
- Prepare production reports and communicate results to management.
- Coordinate with Transportation and other departments to support on-time product delivery.
- Identify opportunities to improve production processes, productivity, quality, and efficiency.
- Ensure effective communication and smooth handoffs between shifts.
- Support troubleshooting and problem-solving on the production floor.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 1+ year of experience in blown film extrusion or a similar plastics/manufacturing environment.
- Working knowledge of blown film extrusion processes, materials, and equipment.
- Hands-on experience with extrusion equipment such as blowers, dies, chillers, and related systems.
- Ability to troubleshoot basic equipment and production issues.
- Knowledge of quality control, SPC, GMP, and production data.
- Experience using Microsoft Office and ERP systems.
- Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
