Overview

JG Plastics Group is seeking a hands‑on Process Engineer to optimize and support our injection molding operations. This role focuses on developing, improving, and validating manufacturing processes to ensure high‑quality molded products for aerospace, medical, and commercial applications.

Key Responsibilities

-- Process Development & Optimization

  • Develop scientific molding processes for new and existing jobs.
  • Assess, document, and improve processes to enhance quality, productivity, and equipment efficiency.
  • Establish, validate, and periodically review process parameters for all molding jobs.
  • Perform process capability studies (Cp, Cpk) and document results.

Technical Support & Troubleshooting

  • Provide technical solutions to improve yield, throughput, and part quality.
  • Monitor molding issues and recommend repairs or refurbishment.
  • Support manufacturing teams with troubleshooting and continuous improvement initiatives.

Validation & Quality Compliance

  • Perform IQ/OQ/PQ validations for all new molding projects.
  • Conduct risk assessments and prepare required documentation.
  • Collaborate with QA to resolve customer complaints, MRBs, CAPAs, RMAs, and root‑cause analysis.
  • Promote and adhere to ISO 9001, AS9100, and ISO 13485 quality system requirements.

Cross‑Functional Collaboration

  • Work with customers and suppliers on technical molding issues and new project requirements.
  • Assist in planning, purchasing, installing, and qualifying new equipment (injection machines, automation, robotics, auxiliary systems).
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement projects across molding, assembly, and tooling departments.

Documentation & Reporting

  • Create and maintain clear, accessible process documentation for manufacturing teams.
  • Quantify and present findings on process effectiveness to management.
  • Maintain flexible work hours to support critical mold trials and validations.

Qualifications

  • Engineering or technical degree required.
  • Experience in plastic injection molding is essential.
  • Experience with aerospace or medical molded components preferred.
  • Hands‑on experience with mold and process validations (IQ/OQ/PQ).
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to work independently.
  • Proficiency with CAD, DOE, SPC, CAR/root‑cause analysis, IQMS, and Lean Manufacturing tools.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; proficiency with standard office software.
