MP&P Engineer (Chemical Technology) (Associate or Mid-level) Company: The Boeing Company Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) is seeking a full-time MP&P Engineer (Chemical Technology) (Associate or Mid-level) specializing in chemical processing, corrosion, and aircraft finishing systems to join our team located at the Boeing facility in Berkeley, MO. The position offers a wide variety of tasks and responsibilities including design and production support to St. Louis BDS programs for finishes and coatings, as well as specification authoring and maintenance.

The position will be responsible for processes and technologies such as plating, paint, sealing, corrosion protection, and chemical analysis. The successful candidate will be: energetic; driven; flexible; able to work independently and in a team; and able to complete special project assignments. The candidate will possess knowledge in corrosion principles, design concepts, and techniques related to finishing systems, chemical laboratory equipment, fuels, lubricants, inorganic chemicals, qualification and analysis methods.

Position Responsibilities: Author and revise material or process specifications Environmental protection methods and requirements Investigate corrosion reports, recommend design changes to reduce corrosion impacts address corrosion related inquiries around materials, processes and equipment Support non-conformances, fleet impact assessments, notice of escapes Review and approve suppliers to chemical processing methods, standards, and specifications Analyze failures, conduct failure analysis, identify and lead improvements or initiatives to finishing systems Interface with government, external and internal customers Review and approve documents and drawings for finishing requirements Perform production acceptance and/or qualification of materials Production and development support of Boeing St. Louis aircraft programs Assists in evaluation of emerging technologies for potential application Must be willing to travel up to 10%. This position is expected to be 100% onsite.

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement 3+ years’ related engineering experience 1+ years’ experience in aerospace or automotive paint application, paints & coatings, and/or inorganic chemical processes. Preferred Requirements: 5+ years’ related engineering experience Experience with aerospace coatings and/or finishing systems Bachelor’s degree or higher in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering equivalent experience is required. g.
