The Analytical Chemist will play a key hands-on role in supporting the characterization, testing, and quality evaluation of advanced polymeric concrete materials, resins, raw materials, and finished products. This position involves working across the R&D laboratory, and pilot plant to help generate reliable analytical data that supports research, product development, process optimization, and manufacturing.

Responsibilities include preparing samples, performing chemical and physical analyses, operating and maintaining laboratory instrumentation, collecting and interpreting analytical data, and assisting in troubleshooting material and process-related issues. The Analytical Chemist will collaborate closely with scientists, engineers, production teams, and quality personnel to ensure accurate testing and timely reporting of results throughout the product development lifecycle.

This role is ideal for someone with 1–2 years of laboratory experience who enjoys hands-on analytical work, problem-solving, and contributing to the development of high-performance construction materials in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment.

Position Purpose

  • Supports the development, characterization, and quality evaluation of advanced polymeric concrete materials through hands-on laboratory testing and analytical measurements.
  • Works closely with senior scientists and engineers to perform routine and developmental analytical testing, interpret results, and support research initiatives with a focus on technical accuracy, data integrity, and continuous improvement.
  • Assists in evaluating raw materials, intermediate products, and finished formulations by generating high-quality analytical data that supports product development, process optimization, and manufacturing.
  • Acts as a key analytical resource between R&D, Quality Control, and Operations, ensuring timely communication of laboratory results and supporting informed technical decisions throughout the development process.
  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams and may contribute to technical reports, customer support activities, and external technical interactions under the guidance of the Lead R & D Scientist.

Job Requirements

  • Contribute technical knowledge to the characterization and development of innovative polymeric concrete materials.
  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams including R&D, Quality, Process Engineering, and Production to support product development and manufacturing.
  • Demonstrate initiative, adaptability, and effective time management while handling multiple laboratory assignments and changing project priorities.
  • Apply logical thinking and analytical problem-solving skills to investigate material behavior, troubleshoot analytical methods, and resolve testing issues under guidance.
  • Communicate effectively with laboratory personnel, engineers, scientists, and production staff.
  • Document analytical procedures, laboratory observations, calculations, and test results with strong attention to detail, organization, and accuracy.
  • Demonstrate curiosity and a willingness to learn new analytical techniques, instrumentation, and laboratory best practices.
  • Follow established laboratory procedures, quality standards, and safety protocols while contributing ideas for continuous improvement.
  • Support preparation of technical reports, presentations, and analytical summaries as needed, with opportunities for future external technical engagement as experience develops.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the characterization, testing, and quality evaluation of polymeric concrete materials, resins, fillers, aggregates, additives, and finished products through laboratory experimentation and analytical testing.
  • Prepare samples, standards, reagents, and laboratory solutions following established analytical procedures and standard operating procedures.
  • Operate, maintain, and assist in troubleshooting analytical instrumentation such as FTIR, DSC, TGA, rheometers, viscometers, UV-Vis spectrophotometers, GC, HPLC, or other laboratory instruments as applicable.
  • Perform routine chemical and physical analyses to evaluate raw materials, intermediates, and finished products for research, quality, and production support.
  • Collect, analyze, interpret, and accurately document analytical data using laboratory information systems, spreadsheets, and technical reports.
  • Assist in validating analytical methods, maintaining laboratory equipment, and ensuring instruments remain properly calibrated and qualified.
  • Support investigations involving product performance, material variability, and process optimization through laboratory testing and data analysis.
  • Collaborate closely with engineers, scientists, and production personnel to provide analytical support during laboratory development, pilot plant activities, and scale-up operations.
  • Maintain laboratory notebooks, analytical records, and documentation in accordance with company quality standards and good laboratory practices.
  • Monitor assigned laboratory activities, communicate testing progress effectively to project leads, and adapt to changing project requirements as needed.
  • Contribute to maintaining a safe, clean, organized, and efficient analytical laboratory environment.
  • Participate in internal technical meetings to present analytical findings and contribute to collaborative problem-solving.
  • Stay informed about emerging analytical techniques, laboratory technologies, and materials characterization methods through internal training and independent learning.
