Role details
About the Role
This role is centered on executing first article inspections and managing process validations, specifically IQ, OQ, and PQ, to ensure all production meets client specifications.
Core Duties
- Conduct comprehensive first article inspections.
- Design and propose inspection techniques utilizing manual, vision-based, and automated precision metrology tools.
- Generate detailed documentation for first article results, capability assessments, and gage R&R evaluations.
- Analyze and translate customer blueprints and technical requirements, including those with complex geometric tolerances.
- Support the team by assigning inspection-related projects, such as capability studies, to Quality Technicians and Inspectors.
- Maintain a strong understanding of relevant regulatory and ISO standards.
- Ensure all client information remains strictly confidential.
- Help maintain a safe working environment for the entire team.
- Perform additional tasks as requested by management.
Physical Demands and Environment
- Capacity to lift objects weighing up to 20 pounds.
- Work is primarily based in an office, though you may encounter loud noise and varying temperatures while on the production floor.
Reporting Structure
This position reports directly to the Quality Engineer.
Requirements
Education
- A high school diploma or its equivalent is mandatory.
- A two-year technical degree is considered a plus.
Experience
- At least two years of professional experience inspecting injection molded parts is required.
- Demonstrated proficiency in interpreting technical specifications and blueprints.
- Prior hands-on experience completing FAIs is essential.
- Familiarity with Minitab or similar statistical analysis tools is preferred.
Skills and Knowledge
- Fundamental understanding of manufacturing systems and inspection workflows.
- Solid grasp of core quality management principles.
- High level of precision and focus on detail.
- Effective interpersonal, organizational, and communication abilities.
- Ability to collaborate effectively within a team setting.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Competency in standard computer software, including MS Office.
Employment Details
This is a full-time position with an hourly compensation range of $22.00 to $32.00.
