A day in the life

You start your morning walking the floor, checking yield and cycle-time dashboards pulled from IQMS (or a comparable ERP/MES). A trend in scrap rate triggers a quick kaizen huddle. By mid-morning youre validating a new process setting, updating standardized work, and logging a corrective action.

After lunch, youre in a cross-functional review for an upcoming launchaligning tooling, routings, and PPAP deliverables. You wrap the day by publishing KPI insights and prioritizing the next wave of improvements.

What youll do

  • Drive continuous improvement: Uncover and implement changes that boost efficiency, reduce waste, and raise product quality.
  • Lead Lean/Six Sigma and cost-out efforts: Champion projects that remove variation and lower total cost.
  • Turn data into action: Analyze production data for trends and root causes; translate findings into practical improvements.
  • Standardize the work: Create and maintain clear work instructions and process documentation.
  • Be the production go-to: Provide daily engineering support, troubleshoot issues, and implement CAPA to sustain results.
  • Increase capability and speed: Run process capability studies, support equipment validation, and reduce cycle times.
  • Launch new products right: Partner with engineering, quality, and operations on NPDfrom process design and tooling development to feasibility reviews, PPAPs, first article inspections, and production trialsensuring smooth, disruption-free releases.
  • Master the systems: Use IQMS or similar ERP to manage BOMs, routings, production data, and inventory accuracy; strengthen ERP/MES data integrity; generate KPI reports that inform decisions.
  • Enable integration: Support system enhancements that better connect digital tools with manufacturing processes.
  • Work across the plant: Contribute on cross-functional teams, uphold safety, environmental, and quality standards, and assist with capital projects (equipment specification, installation, and validation).
  • Pitch in as needed: Perform additional duties to advance business goals.

What you bring

  • Bachelors degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
  • Hands-on continuous improvement experience (Lean, Six Sigma).
  • Familiarity with IQMS or equivalent ERP systems.
  • Proven troubleshooting, analytical, and project management skills in a manufacturing setting.
  • A shop-floor presence and practical mindset.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with internal teams, suppliers, and customers.
  • Clear, confident communication across all organizational levels.

Bonus points

  • Background in rubber, urethane, or adjacent manufacturing environments.
  • Six Sigma certification (Green Belt or higher).
  • Knowledge of materials science and regulatory/compliance standards.
  • Experience with statistical analysis and process control tools.

Why youll love it here

  • Direct, measurable impact on manufacturing performance and innovation.
  • A collaborative, team-first culture.
  • Organization-wide commitment to continuous improvement and growth.
  • Competitive compensation and a comprehensive benefits package.
