Job Summary
The Corrosion Engineer / Corrosion Scientist will work closely with senior staff on R&D projects, contributing to developing and implementing innovative corrosion mitigation strategies. You will play a key role in designing experiments, conducting tests, analyzing data, and generating technical reports. This position requires a strong understanding of electrochemistry, corrosion science, and coating technologies.
Responsibilities • Conduct research, design experiments, and analyze corrosion mitigation and coating development data. • Utilize electrochemical and corrosion measurement techniques (local and global). • Apply relevant industry standards (ASTM, ISO, MIL-STD) in research and testing.
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment. • Execute all phases of projects, from planning and execution to reporting and presentation. • Manage lab activities, mentor junior scientists/technicians, and foster a collaborative environment emphasizing continuous improvements and client-focused results.
• Able to multitask and ensure project compliance with contract requirements, regulations, and industry best practices. • Meet project deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously. • Build and maintain relationships with federal and commercial clients, identify new business opportunities, and contribute to company growth.
• Publish research findings and attend conferences. • Travel (10-15%) to domestic and international customer sites and military depots.

• Advanced degree (Bachelor’s \+ 6 years of experience, Master’s \+ 4 years of experience, PhD \+2 years of experience) in Material/Chemical/Corrosion/Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, or a related field. • Experience in academic or industrial R&D, focusing on surface science, surface treatment, corrosion, and coatings. ).

Preferred Skills • Experience with computational modeling of electrochemical/corrosion processes. • Proficiency in MS Office, basic statistical analysis techniques and design of experiments (DoE). • Excellent communication and presentation skills. • Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities. • Knowledge of coating technologies used in aerospace, automotive, oil & gas, and marine industries.
