About InfraCom

InfraCom is an innovative engineering and manufacturing company specializing in advanced composite infrastructure solutions for the telecommunications and utility industries. Our carbon fiber and fiberglass monopoles provide a lightweight, corrosion-resistant alternative to traditional steel structures, enabling faster deployment, lower installation costs, and a reduced environmental footprint.

As demand for next-generation wireless infrastructure continues to grow, InfraCom is expanding its engineering team to support product development, customer projects, structural analysis, and new technology initiatives.

Position Summary

InfraCom is seeking a highly motivated Structural Project Engineer – Telecommunications to join our growing engineering team.

This position is responsible for the structural design, analysis, and validation of composite telecommunications structures while supporting product development, manufacturing, and customer engineering activities. The ideal candidate has experience designing monopoles, towers, utility structures, or other engineered infrastructure and enjoys working in a fast-paced environment where engineering directly influences innovative products.

This role offers an excellent opportunity to work on cutting-edge composite structures and help shape the future of telecommunications infrastructure.

Key ResponsibilitiesStructural Engineering

  • Design and analyze composite monopoles ranging from 6 to 45 meters in height.
  • Perform structural calculations for wind, seismic, dead, and equipment loading.
  • Design direct-buried and foundation-mounted structures.
  • Evaluate structural performance for telecommunications, utility, smart city, and transportation applications.
  • Develop custom engineering solutions to satisfy customer-specific loading requirements.
  • Review third-party engineering calculations and project drawings.

Engineering Analysis

  • Perform structural analysis in accordance with applicable industry standards, including:
  • TIA-222
  • ASCE 7
  • International Building Code (IBC)
  • AASHTO (preferred)
  • NESC (preferred)
  • Perform finite element analysis (FEA) to evaluate structural performance and optimize designs.
  • Prepare engineering calculation packages, reports, and technical documentation.

Product Development

  • Improve existing product designs for strength, manufacturability, and cost efficiency.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing to optimize production methods and quality.
  • Participate in prototype development, testing, and product validation.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous product improvement.

Customer Engineering Support

  • Review customer loading criteria and equipment configurations.
  • Provide technical support to wireless carriers, tower companies, utilities, EPC contractors, and engineering consultants.
  • Participate in customer meetings and technical presentations.
  • Respond to engineering inquiries and Requests for Information (RFIs).

Manufacturing & Quality Support

  • Work closely with production and quality teams to resolve engineering challenges.
  • Assist in developing manufacturing procedures and engineering work instructions.
  • Support root-cause investigations and corrective actions.
  • Participate in factory acceptance testing and structural load testing.

QualificationsRequired

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering.
  • Minimum of 5 years of structural engineering experience.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred; candidates actively pursuing licensure are encouraged to apply.
  • Experience designing telecommunications structures, utility structures, steel structures, or similar engineered infrastructure.
  • Strong knowledge of structural mechanics and wind loading.
  • Proficiency with structural analysis software such as RISA, STAAD.Pro, SAP2000, or equivalent.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and construction documents.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred

  • Experience with telecommunications monopoles or towers.
  • Knowledge of composite materials (fiberglass or carbon fiber).
  • Experience with Finite Element Analysis (ANSYS, Abaqus, SolidWorks Simulation, or similar).
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or Autodesk Inventor.
  • Experience supporting manufacturing or product development environments.
  • Understanding of utility, transmission, or transportation structures.

Desired Skills

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple engineering projects simultaneously.
  • Self-motivated with strong organizational skills.
  • Collaborative team player who enjoys cross-functional work.
  • Passion for engineering innovation and continuous improvement.

Why Join InfraCom?

At InfraCom, you'll have the opportunity to work on innovative infrastructure solutions that are transforming the telecommunications industry. Rather than supporting a single project type, you'll contribute across the full product lifecycle—from concept and engineering through manufacturing, testing, customer support, and deployment.

This role offers significant technical responsibility, exposure to emerging composite technologies, and the opportunity to grow into a senior engineering leadership position as the company expands.
