What you´ll do
- Establishes and leverages external networks and partnerships (research/suppliers/OEM/boards/industry); communicates and meets with customers at their facilities to translate/identify new opportunities
- Develops and manages key innovation/application development programs and special projects; understands latest technologies and impacts to Strategic Business Units and customers and conducts competitive benchmarking studies to assess ability to win and innovation opportunities
- Leads bonding and gasketing recommendations, technical customer visits, internal and external demonstrations and trainings, customer trouble-shooting activities, problem solving for strategic initiatives, breakthrough technologies
- Conducts manufacturing excellence surveys to identify cost savings and process improvement opportunities
- Performs hands-on activities such as surface preparation and adhesive product application (manual and robotic), bonding and gasketing testing, oversees technician laboratory experimental work and studies, and writes reports; supports the sales engineers and Key account managers during trials and troubleshooting at customer site
- Traveling of up to 20-50% is required for that role
What makes you a good fit
- Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, chemistry, material engineering or similar
- 3-5 years of application experience in a laboratory setting with adhesive technology for automotive interiors and exteriors preferred.
- 2 years of project management skills preferred
- Ability to build strong relationships and work cross-collaboratively
- Strong understanding of product, applications, customer knowledge to deliver/quantify value and run demos
- Demonstrated strength in analytical thinking, mechanical aptitude, organization, and effective troubleshooting to resolve complex problems
- This role is office based and requires the selected candidate to be on site in the office 5 days per week unless they are traveling to a customer site, a Henkel facility or at a trade show
