Materials Engineer \| Medical Device Industry

We're partnering with a growing medical device manufacturer to hire a Materials Engineer to support product development from concept through commercialization.

This role will lead material selection, qualification, characterization, and change assessments while collaborating with R&D, Quality, Manufacturing, and Regulatory teams to ensure product performance, patient safety, and compliance with global regulations.

Key Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Materials Science, Polymer Science, Chemistry, or related field
• 3\+ years of experience in medical devices or regulated manufacturing
• Strong knowledge of ISO 10993, ISO 14971, FDA regulations, and EU MDR
• Experience with material characterization, validation testing, and risk assessment
• Familiarity with injection molding, extrusion, GD&T, and CAD tools (SolidWorks preferred)
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills

What You'll Do

• Lead material selection and qualification activities
• Evaluate material, supplier, manufacturing, and sterilization changes
• Support regulatory submissions and technical documentation
• Assess biocompatibility and chemical characterization data
• Partner with suppliers and cross-functional teams to support new product development and manufacturing operations
