Technical Associate - Research & Development

Location:

Wilmington, DE (Onsite)

Duration:

12\+ Month Contract (Annual Renewal)

Pay:

Up to $30-32.50/hr on W2

Schedule:

  • 40 hours/week
  • Monday-Friday
  • 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM

Responsibilities

  • Prepare samples, reagents, and standards following established procedures.
  • Perform X-ray diffraction (XRD), X-ray tomography (XRT), and electron microscopy data acquisition and assess basic data quality.
  • Conduct ultramicrotomy to prepare sample cross-sections for analysis.
  • Perform routine instrument operation and maintenance.
  • Dispose of laboratory waste according to established procedures.
  • Perform routine Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) refills following established procedures.
  • Safely handle cryogenic materials and systems.
  • Support Research & Development (R&D), Technical Service & Development (TS&D), and Manufacturing teams.
  • Work under the guidance of experienced scientists in a laboratory environment.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Materials Science, Physics, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent knowledge acquired through on-the-job training.
  • Experience working in a chemical laboratory.
  • Strong sample preparation and safe chemical handling skills.
  • Experience operating laboratory equipment.
  • Commitment to laboratory safety procedures.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment while managing competing priorities.
