Overview We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Manufacturing Engineer to join our innovative production team. In this role, you will drive manufacturing excellence by developing, implementing, and optimizing manufacturing processes across our facility. Your expertise will ensure efficient production workflows, high-quality output, and continuous improvement initiatives.
This position offers an exciting opportunity to work at the forefront of manufacturing technology, leveraging your mechanical knowledge and engineering skills to enhance our operations and deliver exceptional products. Must be a DFM design professional, with experience in manufacturing automation.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and refine manufacturing processes for various product lines, including plastics injection molding, assembly lines, and fabrication.
- Utilize CAD software such as SolidWorks to create detailed schematics, layouts, and tooling designs that support manufacturing operations.
- Program and troubleshoot programmable logic controllers (PLCs), CNC machines, and robotics to optimize automation and streamline production workflows.
- Find ways to automate and optimize manufaturing processes, with a proven track record.
- Conduct root cause analysis on production issues to identify underlying problems and implement effective corrective actions.
- Lead process engineering initiatives focused on lean manufacturing principles to eliminate waste and improve efficiency throughout the manufacturing facility.
- Collaborate with industrial engineers to develop factory layouts, schematics, and industrial equipment specifications that enhance operational productivity.
- Oversee tooling design, fabrication, and maintenance to ensure precision in assembly lines and welding operations while adhering to ISO 9001 standards.
- Implement vision inspection systems and other industrial equipment to maintain quality control standards across all manufacturing stages.
- Support continuous improvement projects by analyzing process data, developing action plans, and tracking progress toward operational goals.
Qualifications*- Minimum of 7 years of manufacturing experience.*
Proven experience in manufacturing environment with a strong understanding of factory operations and assembly line processes.
- Proficiency in CAD software such as SolidWorks or similar tools for 3D design, schematics and tooling design.
- Hands-on experience programming CNC machines, CAM software, robot programming, and industrial equipment integration.
- Knowledge of plastics injection molding techniques and associated tooling requirements.
- Strong mechanical engineering background with expertise in fabrication, welding, tooling design, and mechanical assembly.
- Familiarity with process engineering concepts including lean manufacturing methodologies and continuous improvement strategies.
- Ability to perform root cause analysis using structured problem-solving approaches.
- Experience working with schematics, industrial schematics diagrams, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing), and CAD/CAM programming tools.
- Understanding of ISO 9001 quality management standards within a manufacturing setting.
- Excellent project scheduling skills with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills for collaborating across teams including industrial engineers, fabrication specialists, and quality assurance personnel.
