Job Summary

Ensure Safety guidelines and policies are understood and adhered to. Performs a wide variety of engineering process improvement activities, optimization of manufacturing equipment, and support systems, as well as new product launches.

Essential Functions

  • Responsible for adherence to all Safety rules to accomplish safety objectives.
  • Responsible for systematic manufacturing performance improvement in areas of machine efficiency, quality, and process optimization.
  • Troubleshoot, program, and make process adjustments on injection/over-molding machines.
  • Supports and drives continuous improvement with scrap reduction activities, while also making improvement recommendations.
  • Supports root cause analysis when plant and equipment issues arise. Suggest corrective and preventative actions and ensure that these are appropriately documented and approved per procedures.
  • Conduct optimization studies, capacity analysis and perform detailed engineering analysis of working areas, systems & process equipment
  • Develop process improvement initiatives to increase operational efficiency and productivity.
  • Reviews manufacturing trends to identify areas where improvement is needed and leads teams to determine/implement solutions.
  • Experiments with existing processes and workflows to make recommendations on necessary changes.
  • Work with manufacturing to enhance changeover processes, reducing changeover time and standardize the process as necessary.
  • Ensure that all manufacturing machine monitor and adjustment points are labeled according and legible.
  • Assists in development of training information and documentation.
  • Consults with vendors and manufacturers as required.
  • Understands the equipment, processes and methods of operation, can train employees and support troubleshooting as necessary.
  • Can work with AutoCAD software and perform basic functions (layouts, design small racks, jigs, etc.)

Secondary Duties:

Performs other Engineering functions as requested.

Support MRB – Material Review Board as needed.

New machinery and program launch.

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related technical discipline

Experience:

  • 2\+ years’ experience in manufacturing extrusion/injection molding preferred.
  • Must be able to make program adjustments, troubleshoot with an in-depth knowledge of injection/over molding machines.
  • Automation experience with Robots is a plus.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously whilst maintaining a high level of accuracy in all work.
  • Ability to work effectively on own initiative and effectively contribute within a team environment
  • Excellent communication skills (both written and oral).
  • Proficient in the use of Excel and SPC.
  • Must already have or have the ability to obtain Six Sigma Certifications.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $70,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
