Role details
The Supplier Integrated Product Engineer will be responsible for identifying, developing, and launching new and cutting-edge automotive plastic products. They will work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, design, materials, process, marketing, and sales, to define product requirements, create product roadmaps, conduct R&D activities, communicate with the customer's early development department and ensure successful product launches for GHM Plastics components while working integrated into the GM engineering teams.
- Develop and execute future automotive products, primarily but not limited to Pillar exterior trim components.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define product requirements and ensure alignment with customer needs
- Conduct market research & analysis to identify new product opportunities & validate product concepts
- Manage the product development of Minth-provided plastic parts
- Work with the CFT to initiate and follow up on engineering changes
- Ensure drawings and CAD are completed and reviewed prior to release
- Ensure releases are completed internally and externally with OEM per their guidelines
*To qualify for this role you must meet the following:*
- Academic degree: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent degree
- Work Experience (Company type/Area/Years): 5 years minimum
- Prefer GM Supplier Integration Engineering experience (SI3) in Green House Moldings/Plastics area but open to previous experience working on GM projects in some capacity
- Knowledge of injection-moulded plastics, joining techniques, and general assembly is required
- It is also desired to have some awareness/knowledge of Painting & chroming processes
- This role will be stationed in GM 3 days a week
