Plastic Extruder Operator – Lead Track (3rd Shift) for a Growing MFG Company

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (job functions include but are not limited to):

The Plastic Extruder Operator works with a team on creating high-quality plastic compounds that are used in a variety of industries all over the world!

• Setup/cleanup and monitor extrusion processes
• Works within all safety guidelines and policies
• Operates all equipment/extruder lines to meet or exceed all quality, safety, and production standards
• Work with others on your shift, engineers, and Quality Control to make sure high-quality plastic products are manufactured to customer requirements
• Monitors product quality and takes appropriate action
• Learn about the process to be able to troubleshoot and solve any issues that may arise
• Participates in continuous improvement
• Safely lift and transport 50-60 lbs. of material as needed
• Accurately monitor and record information
• Bag and label finished products
• Use tools
• Operate a forklift
• Perform other duties and assignments as given
• Support and mentor newer operators as you gain experience, helping build a strong and efficient shift.
• Demonstrate ownership of your extrusion line and proactively communicate with shift supervisors and Manufacturing Managers.
• Show readiness to take on additional responsibilities that align with our Lead Operator career path.

• Experience working in a manufacturing environment
• A strong sense of urgency, plus attention to detail and accuracy
• Strong focus on safety and quality
• Can work an entire shift on his or her feet
• Ability to lift or carry objects weighing approximately 50-60 lbs.
• Mechanically inclined
• Basic math skills (add, subtract, multiply, and divide)
• Reliable transportation
• At least a High School Diploma, GED

Leadership Qualities We Value:

• Strong communication skills and the ability to guide others
• Experience training or mentoring teammates in any environment
• Desire to advance into a Lead Operator role

Candidates will be required to pass:

• Background screening
• Drug test
• Basic respiratory fit test and hearing test

Available Shifts: Monday through Friday with occasional weekends/overtime to meet our customers’ needs:

• 3rd Shift: 11:00PM to 7:30AM

Pay: Starting at $18 / hour \+ $1 shift differential bonus; experienced operators and those with leadership potential may qualify for higher rates

Preferred Experience

• Plastics manufacturing and/or extrusion experience
• At least 1 year in a manufacturing or construction environment
• Experience leading small teams, training coworkers, or serving as a go‑to person in a manufacturing or construction environment is a plus.

ON-THE-JOB TRAINING WILL BE PROVIDED!!

This role offers a clear advancement path. High‑performing Operators have the opportunity to move into Lead Operator positions as early as their first year.
